Карел Вацлав (4.1.1859, Лазне-Белоград, - 8.7.1926, Прага), чешский писатель. Окончил учительский институт в Йичине (1877). Начал печататься в 80-х гг. Главная тема творчества - жизнь чешской деревни (сборники "Выминкаржи", 1891; "Среди людей", "Полупаны", оба - 1898, и др.). В повестях "Заброшенные патриоты" (1893) и "Закат" (1896) изображена культурно-просветительская деятельность сельских учителей и низшего духовенства в период национального возрождения. Роман "О пропавшем сапожнике" (1920) повествует о трудной жизни населения Подкрконошского края, о национальном гнёте. Р. развивал реалистические традиции в чешской литературе.

Fonio, also sometimes called findi or acha, is the term for two cultivated grasses in the genus Digitaria that are notable crops in parts of West Africa. They are millets with small grains.

Fonio is a nutritious food with a favorable taste. It is consumed mainly in West African countries, where it is also cultivated. The global fonio market was estimated at 721,400 tonnes in 2020. Guinea annually produces the most fonio in the world, accounting for over 75% of the world's production in 2019. The name fonio (borrowed into English from French) is from Wolof foño.
